Arc of Steuben maintains a lending library of materials that inform families about developmental disabilities and how to deal with them. The materials are in many forms, including books, videos and games.

Items are available during business hours weekdays at our main building on the Bath campus.

Let us know if there’s a particular topic or resource you need, and we’ll make every effort to include it in our library.

I am very happy that I took my position at Arc. I am proud to be a part of this organization and seeing what an impact we have on people in the community. ”

Myths:

People with Tourette’s can control their movements and sounds if they really wanted to, and pointing out the symptoms will help people stop performing them.

Fact:

This is an inherited disorder. Tics are movements or sounds "that occur intermittently and unpredictably out of a background of normal motor activity“ and can be controlled only for very short periods of time and then they must be released.
