Care at Home III, IV, VI  is administered by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for children under the age of 18 who are diagnosed with a developmental disability, have complex health needs, and require nursing home level of care but who are not eligible for Medicaid due to parental income and resources.

The Arc of Steuben can provide families with service coordination services for the child and his/her family.   The role of the Service Coordinator is to help families get their child the full range of medical care and related services that he or she needs.

Myths:

Providing accommodations for people with disabilities is expensive.

Fact:

Did you know that for the minority of workers with disabilities who do need some sort of special equipment or accommodation, 56% of these cost less than $600, with many costing nothing at all? And available tax incentives make it even easier for businesses to cover accessibility costs.
