We need your help. Gov. Cuomo is soon going to unveil his proposed 2017-18 budget. Agencies like ours that were impacted by the increase in the minimum wage are hoping the governor will include an additional $45 million to offset the impact raising the minimum wage has had.
If we do not receive additional funding from the state in the 2017-18 budget, we could find ourselves unable to offer the same services we currently provide. We can’t let that happen!
We are joining with Arcs across the state in asking Gov. Cuomo to show his support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those who work with them by funding the minimum wage increase. Click here for a letter to the governor. All you need to do is sign it and mail it to show your support for this important issue.
You can also contact the governor through his website.
It’s critical we get as many of these letters as possible into the governor’s hands. He needs to know that there are thousands of voters across the state that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the associates who provide services for them. Add your voice to the growing chorus asking the governor to be fair to direct care!
