Arc Associates

Our Foundation Board

The Arc of Steuben Foundation was created in 1997 to raise funds to support services to people with disabilities and their families.

One of our primary goals was to establish an endowment to secure the future of services to people served by the Arc of Steuben. The endowment will provide a guaranteed source of income, year after year, helping us navigate a fluctuating economy.

The Foundation funds grants to Arc of Steuben programs for needs not funded by other sources.  Examples include medical equipment for individuals, Special Olympics equipment and uniforms, expenses to attend self-advocacy conferences, carbon monoxide detectors for the homes. AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) in several program locations, specialized training for staff, gardening program planters, and recreation equipment.

The Foundation's Wish Upon an Arc Star program, launched in June 2011, funds Wish requests on behalf of a child or adult served by the Arc of Steuben.  A request is initiated by a staff person who is aware of an individual's life dream or passion that could be fulfilled with funding and the support of community resources.

Our Foundation, created with a grant from the Fred and Harriet Taylor Foundation and donations from supporters, also allows you to choose from a number of methods to make gifts for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.  Donors are recognized and honored on the Arc of Stars wall.

Legacy Bricks are available to honor a loved one, an organization, or business.  Bricks and pavers are engraved as requested and installed in a permanent walkway at the entrance to our main building at the Bath campus.  Contact the Development department for information.
