Our History
The organization is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, composed of parents, family members, and advocates for people with disabilities. Community-based services are provided by caring, dedicated, well-trained associates and volunteers. All services are available to Steuben County residents, and Crisis Support services are provided in seven counties. We are located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State.
The Arc of Steuben is a chapter of NYSARC, Inc. which is the largest not-for-profit organization in New York State and has been in operation for over fifty years. Through NYSARC, Inc., the Arc of Steuben is also an affiliated chapter of the Arc of the United States which is the national parent organization that has been in operation since 1950.
